[Aug 16, 2003] AWARDEES 2003
The following awards were read by SK Noel R. Villamor right after the Officers Installation ceremonies
at the Central Park Gym on August 16, 2003.

Certificate of Perfect Attendance at all prescribed council meetings from July 1, 2002 to
June 30, 2003 is awarded to Bro. Wymin M. Lee and Bro. Panfilo A. Mangkikis.
We give this award to a Brother Knight who is not an officer of the council yet is always
present in the monthly regular meetings. This award, therefore, recognizes the active and
whole-hearted support shown by the regular members to the council leadership.
|
Certificate of Merit is awarded to SK Roger Hermosura our Fraternal Counsellor.
Brod Roger is the one who goes house-to-house bringing with him Fr. Michael McGivney's legacy
of protecting families through the KofC FAPI.
|
Certificate of Merit is specially awarded to Sir Alexis Babao for his commendable services as
Community Director and Recorder for CY 2002-2003. Brod Alex had a serious accident last April and was
since then tied to a wheel chair. Despite this, he is with us tonight to witness the ceremonies.
We are praying thru Fr. McGivney for his speedy recovery.
|
Knight of the Year Award CY 2001-2002 is awarded to SK Angelino Mariano.
Born on May 31, 1930 he joined the Knights in March 1994. He is the life of our council with
a seemingly inexhaustible ammo of jokes and funny stories that make everyone grin. His legacy
to the council is his trustworthy service as Financial Secretary for six years now and counting.
With great honesty, diligence and sacrifice he took prudent care of the monies of the council,
a scarce feat at present times.
|
Knight of the Year Award CY 2002-2003 is awarded to SK Edilberto Tanudtanud.
Born on Feb. 12, 1941 he joined the Knights on Nov. 15, 1978 even before Council 8824's charter in 1984.
He transferred to our council from Cotabato City in 1998. Brod Ed is our spiritual leader and
our dependable link to the church. A Family of the Year awardee last CY, he extended exemplary
efforts in keeping together the families of some of our Brother Knights who were in crisis.
His greatest legacy to the council would probably be the nightly rosaries to
Our Lady of Guadalupe and prayers for the beatification of our founder Rev. Fr. Michael J. McGivney.
Started on September 15, 2002 in response to a persevering sickness of Bro. Jun Lagura, the rosary
has remarkably not ceased until now. As of June 30 this year, Bangkal Council has offered over
1500 hours of rosary prayers and petitions. Thus, for imbibing onto the council membership the value of
prayer and absolute dependence to God, this award is given with great pride and honor.

Family of the Year Award CY 2002-2003 is awarded to PGK Jovencio Lara and his family.
This award is presented to the family who has served as inspiration to our parish,
community and council by supporting and strengthening Christian family life.
It is the only award given tonight which bears the signature of the Supreme Knight.
This award is specially given in recognition of the family's consistent support during PGK Ben Lara's
outstanding performance in his 3-year term as Grand Knight of the Council.
