AUG 19: COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DRIVE

There is no better place to start a clean-up drive but in our home community. Here (right photo), 8824 Knights are seen clearing a corner of Cordillera Street and Central Park Blvd from overgrown thorny plants on August 19, 2001. Half of the road has been obstructed and poses great risk to pedestrians and motorists.
Top-left: about one-lane of the road is obstructed by the plants; Top-right: Brods Lino and Noel sets up the KofC flag; Left: the real work begins (Brod Ciano in shorts and Brod Cesar in sweat shirt); Near-bottom-left: WGK Ben rakes the debris; Near-bottom-right: finishing touches with Pops removing thorns from his slippers; Bottom: Mabuhay! Everybody is satisfied.

After 52 man-hours of sweat (bottom photo) and with raised bolos, brooms, rakes and shovel, 8824 Knights shouted Victory! Seven clean-up activity drives have been slated this columbian year.
