The first ever Free Throw Championship of Council 8824. Over 300 spectators were thrilled when Alfredo (left) tied Dodong (top) to a three-time draw. Dodong won when he made perfect shots on the fourth round.

Before the championship event, a series of elimination rounds were conducted for four Saturdays to select the five finalists that will compete in the Dec 24 event. Brod Noel Villamor, the Youth Director, assisted by SK Ed Tanudtanud and Squire Jay Mitchel Cruspero conducted the events. T-shirts were given to the five finalists and trophies were awarded to the three winners. The champion - Dodong Labos was also presented with a gift from GK Ben Lara.

It was noted that most boys who participated in the eliminations were out-of-school youths and came from destitute surrounding areas.
